LUFWANYAMA TOWN COUNCIL CONDUCTS LOAN AND GRANT BENEFICIARIES SENSITIZATION.

Lufwanyama Town Council has conducted a sensitization meeting with the first group of 46 Grants and 23 Loan beneficiaries to be awarded with a total of K 3,895,000.00, under 2024 CDF funding, on how well to use the funds received.
Speaking during the meeting, the Council Secretary Lynda Mapara has called on the beneficiaries to ensure that; they use the funds as intended in their proposals and applications. She also encouraged the beneficiaries getting Loans to start paying in the next sixty days as prescribe in the CDF guidelines.
She has further discouraged the beneficiaries from sharing the money as the Council and other Stakeholder will be monitoring the projects that the groups applied for, she also added that loans are intended to be a revolving fund which should be paid to allow more people to benefit.
The Social Economic Planner, Vincent Lungu has called on the beneficiaries to write to the Council in a special case were the beneficiaries intends to change the project to ensure accountability of the funds.
Mr Lungu has stated that; any misappropriation of funds is an offence which is punishable by law, and which ever group will be found wanting will be delt with accordingly.
