Lufwanyama Town Council is pleased to announce the successful disbursement of K13,780,000 under the Cash-for-Work programme. This initiative has provided vital income support to residents across the 20 wards in the District between November 2024 and May 2025.
The Cash-for-Work program aims to empower local communities through temporary employment opportunities focused on community asset creation, rehabilitation, and environmental protection. Thousands of beneficiaries across the district have participated in activities such as road maintenance, bridge maintenance, and afforestation, contributing to both household incomes and community development.
This intervention is part of the government’s broader commitment to enhancing rural livelihoods, building community resilience, and reducing poverty in vulnerable households.
Lufwanyama Town Council has continued to recruit beneficiaries for works under cash for work in all wards around the district, the Council wishes to inform all eligible beneficiaries that details on the Mobile Network Operators are matching with details on the National Registration Card.
