Lufwanyama Town Council Deputy Council Chairperson Gilbert Mukobola has brought Christmas cheer to families by presenting hampers to babies born on Christmas Day at St Mary’s Hospital and Fungulwe Health Post.
At St Mary’s Hospital, Mr. Mukobola handed over hampers to six newborn babies, while two Christmas babies at Fungulwe Health Post also received similar support. The hampers contained essential baby items meant to support mothers and their newborns during the festive season.
Speaking during the handover, Mr. Mukobola said the gesture was intended to celebrate the gift of life and share joy with families welcoming children on Christmas Day. He noted that the council values the well-being of mothers and children and remains committed to supporting health facilities within the district.
He further commended health workers at both facilities for their dedication and continued service, especially during the festive period when many spend time away from their families to care for others.
Mothers who received the hampers expressed gratitude to the council for the timely support, describing the gesture as a morale booster and a meaningful Christmas gift.
