The Lufwanyama Town Council Chairperson, Ms. Annie Kapandula, together with the newly transferred Council Secretary to Lufwanyama Mr. Mutakela Kayonde, paid a courtesy call on Her Royal Highness Chieftainess Shimukunami. They were accompanied by the Director of Administration who has also been transferred to Lufwanyama and Katembula Ward Councillor.
The visit was aimed at formally introducing the Council Secretary to traditional leader and reaffirming the Council’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the Royal Establishment in the governance and development of Lufwanyama District.
During the meeting, Council Chairperson Kapandula emphasized the importance of unity, mutual respect, and continuous engagement between the local authority and traditional leadership. She noted that traditional leaders play a critical role in community mobilization, peace, and development, and assured Her Royal Highness of the Council’s readiness to work closely with her office.
In her remarks, Her Royal Highness Chieftainess Shimukunami welcomed the delegation and congratulated Mr. Kayonde on his station of work. She called on the new Council Secretary to work collaboratively with all stakeholders, including traditional leaders, councillors, and the general public, for the betterment of Lufwanyama District. The Chieftainess underscored the need for unity, open communication, and collective responsibility in addressing the developmental needs of the people.
The courtesy call concluded with mutual assurances of cooperation and a shared commitment to fostering sustainable development, good governance, and improved livelihoods for the people of Lufwanyama District.
